As we prepare for the second half of 2017, articles like this excite and frighten us. The talent pool is shallow and the “time to hire” decision process for many hiring managers is much too long. This past week, we lost two great candidates to other opportunities. Nothing is more painful than telling a client the candidate they would like to hire is no longer available. Reminding them that they interviewed the candidate 2 to 4 weeks earlier and we also informed them twice that he was receiving other offers does none of us any good at that point and often creates a strained relationship.
At Steele Technology Partners, we are Passionate about our clients, our candidates, our community and one another. However, we can’t change the marketplace. If you are a hiring manager, either accelerate your process or understand that you will make your pick from the B & C+ candidate pool.
